  • It’s unlikely that the keys themself cost more to make individually as the amount of plastic used vs “regular” keys is nearly the same. The mold itself was likely more expensive up front, but that would be an initial, not recurring cost.

  • Yes, on a macro level. The mold costs the same so its the tiny amount of extra plastic that changes. It would not affect any bottom line, likely in the range of a 0.02%-0.07% change in cost.
